Nearly a year and a half ago in April of 2009, I decided that I would take a year off before college and go to Israel. Then, it was a simple idea as it was far in the future. That summer, I picked my program; that fall I submitted my application; the next Spring I received my letter of acceptance. Each step made the idea of going to Israel more real, but it never quite hit me that I would be living in Israel for a year. When I sent in the deposit (and by "I" I mean my very generous parents), it began to hit me that I would be leaving on August 30, 2010. As I told people that I was taking a gap year, I would tell them that I would be leaving August 30, but that day felt like a day way off in the distant future.
Now I just say "I'm leaving tomorrow."
That's right everyone. TOMORROW, I leave for the Holy Land. The Land of Milk and Honey. The Land of Israel. It is most definetly going to be an adventure, so I figure that it's only fair that I create a means for people to find out what I'm up during this very exciting time. Therefor, I've created this blog to talk about my adventures and post some pictures throughout the year, so if you want to know what I'm doing, this is the place to be.
For now I need to finish getting myself ready, so I am going to stop rambling. Instead, I'll just say goodbye, and have a fantastic year!
